Intensives are coming!

I know many of your were dissappointed we were unable to run any intensives over summer while I was away on the research project. But...

Physiotherapy intensives are back for these school holidays!

Monday 4th April - Thursday 7th April

We will be seeing children in the water, at your home or any community setting (eg childcare, playgrounds, your favourite leisure activity).

Intenstives are a great chance to work on a particular goal for the week

Are we working on getting comfortable in the water to transition into community based swimming lessons?

Is sitting up by herself going to make a big difference to your child's ability to play with her siblings at home?

Does your new kinder kid really want to master those two steps to get into the classroom by himself?

Is your child trying very hard to get his body ready so he can reach a toy to make a choice?

Are you eager to help your child cope with water over their face and head to make bathtime more enjoyable?

Choosing a goal related to function (something we do) or participation (something we do in a setting with other people) is a great way to target learning during intensives, as well as throughout your usual therapies.

Aquatic physiotherapy ("hydrotherapy") in Melbourne

I will be seeing children every morning for the week, working towards their goals.

Some children will be working on a movement goal, and others will be focussing more on swim safer skills and transitioning into community based swimming lessons.

We will be using the private, heated indoor pool in Moonee Ponds. And we will have the luxury of having the pool to ourselves for this whole week, with as many toys and climbing frames as we like!

Physiotherapy home visits and community visits in Melbourne

I'll also be doing some home visits / community visits during that school holidays week. It's a great chance to catch members of the family who often have work committments during term time. And it's great to see school kids when they're not tired after a big day at school!
