ASCTA Swimming Australia Teacher (SAT)
SISCAQU202A – Perform basic water rescues
SISCAQU308A – Instruct water familiarisation, buoyancy and mobility skills
SISCAQU309A – Instruct clients in water safety and survival skills
SISCAQU310A – Instruct swimming strokes
SISCCRO302A – Apply legal and ethical instructional skills
A SAT "has the competence and knowledge to teach swimming and water safety to independent learners in groups of varying sizes. Successfully completing Students of this course will receive a Statement of Attainment with the competencies required to deliver GST free, water related, personal safety and survival lessons."
ASCTA Swimming Australia Teacher of Babies and Toddlers (SAT - B&T)
SISCAQU311A – Foster the development of infants and toddlers in an aquatic environment.
A SAT B&T "has the competence and knowledge to teach water familiarisation and basic swimming and water safety to Caregivers and their dependent learners."
ASCTA Swimming Australia Teacher Learners with a disability (SAT - LWD)
SISCAQU312A – Assist participants with a disability during aquatic activities
This course "focusses on the skills you need to teach swimmers with a range of physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities safely and effectively".
Splash Physiotherapy: Working with people with specific learning needs in the water
We have designed this course in response to swim schools who needed additional support, skills and problem solving strategies to effectively engage and work with swimmers with specific learning needs in the water.
No accreditations through ASCTA or Austswim
Best combined with ASCTA SAT - LWD (above) to receive accreditation
Includes:

how to work with families to meet individual swimmers' learning needs
-
how to individualise your approach for swimmers with specific learning needs
-
Practise working through assessment, making a plan, looking at the outcome, and choosing your next plan to optimise learning.

analysis and feedback on up to 10 x 30 second videos, to allow group problem solving, discussion and planning
-
facilitated small group planning for a session
-
facilitated pool session with your students (either 30 mins or 2 x 30 mins depending on numbers)
-
facilitated reflection on the sessions and assistance in developing a plan for next time
-
report back to the organisation following completion of training.

We develop training for: physiotherapists, allied health professionals, allied health assistants, teachers, swimming teachers, and families.
This can be informal training around:

working with a particular family or a group of clients;

assisting with systems around risk screening and management

developing parent interviews to understand a child's developmental needs

supporting staff and families in problem solving strategies when challenges arise

assisting your staff in developing new aquatic programs, or reviewing and updating existing programs for a particular goal

We can also develop and deliver VET units eg. for ASCTA courses or higher education eg Cert 1 Allied Health Assistants.
