Vaccinated! Congratulations!

All of our team at Splash Physiotherapy are very excited to be double vaccinated for COVID-19!

We are grateful and privileged to be part of the stage 1B rollout in Victoria.

Image description: Selfie of me (Shayna, Splash Physiotherapist) after my second covid - 19 vaccine dose. I am wearing face masks, my Splash Physio name badge, and stickers from my vaccination on a blue jacket. I'm not looking into the camera lens! I wish I took a better picture, but this is what we have! It was an exciting day and I need to keep the memory of it!

All of our physios have consented to sharing this information because we are excited, and because we want to share the message for public health.

Some of us have had Astra- zeneca and some of us had Pfizer.

All families of children with disabilities, and NDIS participants, are currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination in Victoria even if you don’t meet the current age criteria

Tips:

  • if you are booking online or checking your eligibility online, on the very last page you will see a question regarding disability. Answer yes

  • If you are calling up the hotline, explain that you have a child under the NDIS living in your home and that you are aware this gives you eligibility

  • You only need to take a copy of your NDIS plan with you to demonstrate eligibility

We are really excited to be better protected against covid19 for ourselves, and to be far less likely to spread the virus to the families we work with if we were lucky enough to catch it.

We are taking Covid precautions very seriously, not just when we are at work but also in our personal lives. We are very aware that we work with babies through to young people and their families who are at higher risk and we take protecting our community seriously.

We will continue to wear masks and any other PPE necessary as the restrictions increase and decrease with outbreaks, and have strong covid safety plans in place for each of the venues we use for Physiotherapy

We are looking forward to seeing access to vaccines improve for everyone worldwide, and especially for our Splash families to reduce the risk for everyone.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding either of the Covid vaccines available currently in Victoria, please discuss with your GP. Your GP is your best source of information.

This is where the Victorian government updates information about the vaccines as well if you are looking for a trusted source of information

Update 9/10/21 "Vaccination boost for people living with a disability"

Best of luck getting access to these safe and effective vaccines, and many congratulations to those of you who are already double jabbed!

Here’s to safer, more open lives, and more consistent access to all forms of Physiotherapy to play towards your goals!
